Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why would I need your help?

A: Everyone needs help sometimes, yes, even those with an IQ of 200.  Sometimes we need help to get into a good development habits. Sometimes simply explaining the problem to someone else helps us to understand it better and it’s not uncommon that a solution presented itself in this situation.

Q: Okay, so I’ll just get my buddy at work to listen to me.

A: Sure, by all means.  But in an organization, there are numerous reasons why the above statement is not always viable or practical.  An impartial ear with the necessary technical experiences will be more useful for you 9 out of 10.

Q: What sort of problems are we talking about?

A: Anything that relates to daily programming challenges in our job as software developer.  Example: sorting out a Spring Framework configuration file, debugging scripts, creating custom queries in SQL.  In short, any programming problems that: a) do not require a security clearance, b) do not violate any confidentiality agreement between you and your employer, c) can be explained, dissected, and analyzed during sessions.

Q: What are sessions?

A: Sessions are the way to quantify the interaction between us and you. A session is basically one meeting, which is an hour (plus-minus a few minutes, we are not too picky). During a session, a problem is presented, analyzed and either: a) solved, or b) recorded and formulated for the next session if so desired.

Q: I prefer online chat instead of meeting, can you facilitate that?

A: Sure.  It would be one-hour per session, just like ordinary sessions, but we do not have to pay for gasoline.

Q: Gosh, this is actually quite useful! can we meet to talk about my … uh, personal issues?

A: Sorry, no. For that, we recommend a visit with a psychologist.

Q: Those articles on your website is rather useful, can I submit one?

A: Certainly, we accept and will publish well-written technical articles that can help us all. The only condition is that it is written by you. Send them via email here
